Vareas Ups Hit Streak to 25 Consecutive Games Wednesday, September 11th, 2030 With 2 hits at Tuscaloosa Municipal Stadium today, Juan Vareas added another game to his hitting streak -- the Waba right fielder has now hit safely for 25 games in a row. But the hitting feat wasn't enough for the Ducks today, as they fell, 6-3, to the Tuscaloosa Trout Slayers. "Frankly, I don't care about hits," Tuscaloosa manager Yu-eh Kwan said later. "I'll let him get 4 hits in 4 at-bats if it means we get a win." Juan Vareas singled in the 2nd, struck out in the 3rd, struck out in the 6th and singled in the 8th. So far this season Vareas has gotten 147 hits in 405 at-bats for a .363 batting average with 8 home runs. His stats include 73 RBIs and 62 runs scored. He has played in 113 games. |
