Torres 5-for-6 for Havana
Wednesday, September 11th, 2030
The Detroit X-Wings might think twice next time about pitching to José Torres.
At Saddlehorn Stadium today, the Havana Rollers center fielder burned Detroit pitching, going 5-for-6 in a 21-5 Havana triumph.
"When he's on his game," Havana skipper Ethan Larson told reporters, "he can probably stroke a base hit blindfolded."
José Torres flied out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, hit an RBI triple in the 7th, doubled in the 8th, singled in the 9th and hit a three-run double in the 9th.
This season Torres has banged out 64 hits in 202 at-bats for a .317 average with 3 home runs. He is getting on base at a .365 pace and his totals also include 24 RBIs and 39 runs scored.
