Emery 5-for-7 for Blueville Saturday, September 7th, 2030 The Louisville Bats might think twice next time about pitching to Joe Emery. At Louisville Slugger Field today, the Blueville 83's catcher burned Louisville pitching, going 5-for-7 in a 18-5 Blueville triumph. "When he's on his game," Blueville skipper Paco Medellín told reporters, "he can probably stroke a base hit blindfolded." Joe Emery grounded out in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Bennie Jones in the 2nd, hit a two-run double in the 3rd, hit a two-run single in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. This season Emery has banged out 127 hits in 446 at-bats for a .285 average with 20 home runs. He is getting on base at a .353 pace and his totals also include 62 RBIs and 84 runs scored.
