Vareas Ups Hit Streak to 20 Consecutive Games Thursday, September 5th, 2030 With 1 hit at East End Park today, Juan Vareas added another game to his hitting streak -- the Waba right fielder has now hit safely for 20 games in a row. But the hitting feat wasn't enough for the Ducks today, as they fell, 5-4, to the Portland Privateers. "Frankly, I don't care about hits," Portland manager Lewis Barker said later. "I'll let him get 1 hits in 1 at-bat if it means we get a win." Juan Vareas hit an RBI single in the 7th. So far this season Vareas has gotten 140 hits in 391 at-bats for a .358 batting average with 7 home runs. His stats include 67 RBIs and 59 runs scored. He has played in 108 games. |
