Hinkle Hits in 20 Straight Games
Thursday, August 29th, 2030
The Memphis Redbirds may have proven to be mere mortals today as they lost 5-4 to the Amarillo Archdukes, but Richard Hinkle continued to hit like a god.
The first baseman collected 1 hit in 3 at-bats in the loss and extended his hitting streak to 20 games.
"Hinkle is playing great and is on fire right now," Redbirds manager Luis Torres said. "Hopefully his play can spark the rest of our team and help us pick up some wins."
Hinkle was apparently not happy with the game and when pressed by reporters in the locker room only said "nothing else matters but the loss." Richard Hinkle singled in the 1st, walked in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, walked in the 8th and flied out in the 9th.
In 71 games Hinkle is hitting .355 this season with 98 hits, 26 home runs, 68 RBIs, 29 walks, .413 OBP and has scored 50 runs.
