Springfield Takes Divisional Round in Deciding Game Monday, October 14th, 2030 In a series that had a little bit of everything, the Springfield Stars have edged the St. Louis Browns. The two rival clubs went the distance in the tightly-contested Divisional Round, with a 5-2 win in the clincher being the difference for Springfield and giving them the ticket to the League Championship with a 4-3 series triumph. "We never stopped believing in ourselves. When push came to shove we were going to get it done," said Elliott Newell, who was named series MVP. For the series, Newell hit .417 with a .483 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 7 RBI and scored 4 runs. The Springfield Stars will play against the Pocatello Bellas in the next round.
