Monday, September 16th, 2030
The New Orleans Looters fell to the Portland Cards in The Bayou at Heineken Field today, even as 25-year-old third baseman Arturo Sánchez upped his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20 games. Sánchez finished with 1 hit in 5 at-bats, but could not stop the Looters from dropping the 10-8 decision.
"Yeah, I kept my streak going, but it would have been better to come away with a win," said Sánchez. Arturo Sánchez grounded out in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th and struck out in the 8th.
So far this season Sánchez has gotten 202 hits in 599 at-bats for a .337 batting average with 19 home runs. His stats include 94 RBIs and 107 runs scored. He has played in 146 games.
