2000th Hit for Rivera Saturday, September 7th, 2030 By going 2-for-3 in the Philadelphia 4-2 win over So Cal, Alfredo Rivera reached the 2000-hit mark. The Edmund Fitzgerald Field fans, friend and foe, burst into applause and Rivera's teammates hugged and congratulated him on his achievement. "The guys began the countdown weeks ago," said the newest member of the 2000 Club. "I don't know who was more excited -- them or me." Rivera has played in 1973 games and is hitting .273 lifetime with 1132 RBIs, 2000 hits, 419 doubles, 63 triples and 314 home runs. He has scored 1162 times and stolen 329 bases.
