Seattle's Tanaka Sidelined for Season
Monday, September 2nd, 2030
The doctors have spoken and Nariaki Tanaka of the Seattle Pikes didn't like what he heard. The 33-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Tanaka sustained his season-ending injury during the St Charles Sheens game yesterday at Pikes' Point Stadium. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Seattle medical staff reported Tanaka had forearm inflammation and would be absent from the lineup for at least 4 months.
This year Tanaka has made 9 starts, thrown 52.1 innings, fanned 38 batters and walked 16. His won-lost record is 2-3 with a 5.50 ERA.
