Portland's Giannini Goes Ballistic with 5 Hits Tuesday, July 30th, 2030 It was a good day at The Kallipolis. The Portland Cards whipped the Nassau Rockets 6-5 and second baseman Giancarlo Giannini showed off a hot bat, going 5-for-7 at the plate. "Some days, lady luck is on your side," Giannini told BNN reporters after the game. Cards manager Gabriel Ontiveros told the beat writers otherwise, calling the 28-year-old "focused and patient." "It's not luck," he said. "He has a solid approach to hitting. Giancarlo hits to all fields. The more solid at-bats you put together, the more success you're going to have." Giancarlo Giannini singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, struck out in the 6th, singled in the 8th, singled in the 11th, struck out in the 12th and hit an RBI single in the 14th.
