Extra-Inning Walk-Off Win for Bandits
|
There was no shortage of dramatics at Bay View Park today.
The Bandits had to overcome a fine effort from Nashville pitcher George Moore to grab a narrow 2-1 win at Bay View Park. Moore went 8 innings and allowed 1 earned run. The winner was Alfonso Martínez in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Johnathan Phillips took the loss.
Chris Austin tagged a home run off Johnathan Phillips in the bottom of the 11th. His solo blast put the Bandits on top, 2-1. In all, Austin had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 5.
"I felt good up there," said Austin. "I saw the ball well."
San Francisco is now 24-30, while Nashville is 29-26.
