Deleón 5-for-6 for Lee's Summit
|
The Cincinnati Pride might think twice next time about pitching to José Deleón.
At Pride Field today, the Lee's Summit Tigers first baseman burned Cincinnati pitching, going 5-for-6 in a 8-1 Lee's Summit triumph.
"When he's on his game," Lee's Summit skipper León Gonzáles told reporters, "he can probably stroke a base hit blindfolded."
José Deleón doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Héctor Fabián in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
So far this season Deleón has gotten 190 hits in 633 at-bats for a .300 batting average with 16 home runs. His stats include 92 RBIs and 95 runs scored. He has played in 155 games.
