Victory Pushes Gang Green Record to 29-20
|
Despite a fine performance by designated hitter Greg Nelson, the Nevada Noise suffered a 8-6 loss to the Irvine Gang Green. Nelson was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Irvine starter José Crus was credited with the win after throwing 94 pitches over 6.1 innings. His record now stands at 4-4. Takehide Ono earned the save for Irvine, his 1st of the year.
Irvine right fielder Ronnie Brown contributed to the cause with a triple in the top of the fifth. For the game, Brown was 1 for 2, while scoring 2 runs.
"It feels good to get this one," Brown told the Irvine Citizen.
Irvine is now 29-20.
