Late Rally by Stars Secures Win
|
The Springfield Stars grabbed a 6-5 win over the Hendersonville Hitmen at Kekambas Park. Springfield third baseman Jesús Tobías was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times to earn player of the game honors. Springfield goes to 32-14. The win puts them 10˝ games up in their division.
Mike Pearson, who is rated as the 99th best prospect by BNN, chipped in for Springfield with a solo home run in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the second baseman had 3 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 2 runs scored, and 1 RBI.
"We've got guys willing to do what it takes to win," Pearson told the Springfield Bulletin.
