Late Rally by Bandits Secures Win
|
The San Francisco Bandits knocked off the Philadelphia Athletics, 7-3, at Edmund Fitzgerald Field. Owen Carter, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason San Francisco won. The catcher went 2 for 5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. The Bandits now own a record of 20-26.
Carter had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a full count fastball from Yu-shu Kong, he banged a grand slam home run to right, giving the Bandits a 6-3 lead. It was the 5th home run of the year for Carter.
Carter told a San Francisco Chronicle reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
