5-Hit Blitz by McCoy
|
There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day.
Brian McCoy is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-6 against the Penquannock Overrated Jeter at Halesite Grounds today. The monster effort from the 21-year-old catcher helped the Wilmington Rebels take the win, 21-2.
"We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Overrated Jeter manager Matt Riddle. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today."
Brian McCoy doubled in the 3rd, hit a two-run single in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Dave Funk in the 6th, flied out in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
Currently McCoy has 4 home runs and a .256 batting average.
