Taylor Slaps 5 Hits
It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-5 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Douglas Taylor, it came around today.

The 25-year-old first baseman scattered hits all over Roy Hobbs Memorial Ballpark to pace the Kansas City Kings to a 11-3 victory over the New York Knights.

New York skipper Kevin Hickey told reporters in the press room that "Taylor deserves a hat-tip."

"He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Taylor hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit."

Douglas Taylor walked in the 1st, hit an RBI triple in the 2nd, tripled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Simon Martel in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

Taylor is batting .293 this year with 7 home runs, 24 RBIs and 32 runs scored. He has 55 hits in 188 at-bats.
