Machine Stymie Nassau, Take 2-0 Win
|
Chicago Machine starter Rod Day was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Nassau Rockets, 2-0. Aaron Thrash recorded the save for Chicago, his 1st of the season. The Machine, now 4-0, have been on a roll in the early going.
The Machine got a big at-bat from right fielder Bernardo Montés. For the game, Montés went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Chicago a 2-0 lead.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Day.
