Kings Deal River Sharks Painful Loss
|
Crowds lined up early in front of The Throne Room, eagerly awaiting the start of the 2030 Baseball Stars Association season. On the mound was António Rijo for the visiting Austin River Sharks and Osvaldo Cruz for the hometown Kansas City Kings. In a spirited contest, the Kings pulled out the win, defeating the River Sharks by the score of 3-2. Earning player of the game honors was António Rijo.
Douglas Taylor, who is rated as the 6th best prospect by BNN, chipped in for Kansas City with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the tenth. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 RBI.
After the game, Kansas City manager Ernesto Durán applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
