Hitmen Lose to Knights, 4-1
|
The New York Knights racked up a win at Roy Hobbs Memorial Ballpark, bumping off the Hendersonville Hitmen, 4-1. Tony Meyer, who started for New York, pitched effectively for his team. Steve Poe sewed up the save, his 2nd. Even with the win, the Knights have a dismal 10-30 record.
Mark Wells, who is tied for 5th in the NL in stolen bases with 13, chipped in for New York with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the third. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 runs batted in.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Wells said after the game.
