Knight Dominates, Whitewashes Power
|
John Knight shut out the West Virginia Power 11-0 on a 3-hit masterpiece for the Memphis Blues at Park of Memphis today.
"He was kind of teasing them with his off-speed stuff, and his fastball was moving everywhere," Memphis skipper Jay Rutledge said afterward.
Knight registered 12 strikeouts and issued 1 walk in pitching a gem.
"We just didn't swing the bats very well. Or else he just pitched good, whichever way you want to look at it," said West Virginia manager Matt Stone after the defeat.
This year Knight has registered no saves in no relief appearances. He has also compiled a 7-5 won-lost mark with a 4.60 ERA. In 76.1 innings he has fanned 64.
