Late Rally by River Sharks Secures Win
|
Austin River Sharks starter Brian Just pitched a strong game against the Kalamazoo Royale with Cheese at Greendale Community Field, leading the River Sharks to a 2-1 win. Austin, at 14-21, sits in last place in the Continental League Central Division.
Tony Cruz was the walk-off hero for Austin. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the River Sharks first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"I like to lead by example," said Cruz. "I'm glad I could contribute to a good win."
