Pocatello Hot Streak Continues with 8-5 Win
|
It was a good time at New BRO Stadium, where fans came to watch the Seattle Pikes and Pocatello Bellas get after it.
The Pocatello Bellas had to overcome a big game from Seattle center fielder Roberto Lozano to leave New BRO Stadium with a 8-5 victory. Lozano was 4-4 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Nelson Ortega was the winning pitcher. Over 7 innings, he allowed 5 runs on 7 hits, with 1 walk and 2 strikeouts. Gerald Johnson picked up the save, his 9th.
António Ortega, who is tied for 9th in the CL in extra base hits with 16, aided the Pocatello cause with a 2-run double in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the first baseman went 2-5 with a double, while adding 2 RBI.
"Feels good to get the job done," Ortega said after the game.
The Bellas, now 22-10, have been red hot.
