Red-Hot Morales Scorches Maniacs
|
Red Bulls shortstop Juan Morales had his way with Menlo pitching today at Menlo Park and mauled them for 5 hits in 5 at-bats. His efforts were all in vain, though, as the Maniacs ruined his great day by toppling the Red Bulls, 9-7.
"I had a great day, but you've got to give Menlo credit, they did what they had to do to win," he told reporters after the game. "They weren't very impressed with my 5 hits."
"Oh, we noticed what Morales did today," Maniacs skipper Artie Taylor said. "He had quite a game. I can tell you this, we will pitch him a little differently the next time we face him."
Juan Morales hit a two-run single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
This year Morales has hit at a .226 clip with 13 RBIs, 3 home runs and 16 runs scored.
