Rebels Edge Athletics, 4-3
|
The Philadelphia Athletics got a superb performance from pitcher Butch Ramey. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Boston. The Rebels won the game, 4-3. In spite of the loss, Ramey was named the player of the game. He threw 7 innings allowing 3 runs. Boston reliever Keith Hill got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Mario Tobías was tagged with the loss. The Athletics drop to 15-17 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2030 season.
The Rebels got a big at-bat from right fielder Ricardo Brandariz. For the game, Brandariz went 3-5 with 3 singles and a walk. In the bottom of the 12th, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 39th hit of the season gave Boston a 4-3 lead.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Brandariz told the Boston Gazette.
