Rebels Continue Skid Thanks to Neal, Athletics
|
The Philadelphia Athletics downed the Boston Rebels, 8-6, at Fenway Park. The Athletics were led by Eric Neal, who captured player of the game honors. He was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The Rebels drop to 13-18 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2030 season.
In the top of the 6th, shortstop Héctor Padilla gave Philadelphia the lead when he hit a 3-run home run. The Athletics had been trailing 5-4, but the two-out home run off Boston pitcher Keith Hill changed that -- and Philadelphia went on to win.
"It was a nice win for our side today," said Athletics manager Bobby Jones. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
