Mile High Broncos slugging first baseman António Martínez swatted his way to the 300 home run mark today as the Broncos fell to the Houston 20-7.

For his part, Martínez chipped in 3 runs batted in, scored 1 run and collected 1 hit in 4 at-bats, but it was not enough to turn the tide.

"It was a special day for António," the team publicist said afterward. "He was disappointed at the result, but everyone was all smiles as he crossed home plate. We're proud of him."

In his career Martínez has played in 1106 games, totaling 1193 hits, 229 doubles, 8 triples and 300 homers. He has hit .284 with 876 RBIs and scored 726 times.
