Late Rally by D-Bags Secures Win
|
The Boston Rebels got a superb performance from pitcher José Ortíz, but the Jersey Shore D-Bags still won the game, 5-4. Ortíz was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 7 innings of 6-hit ball. Jersey Shore reliever Aaron Gibbs picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Enrique Muńóz took the loss. John Hall was credited with the save for Jersey Shore, his 6th of the season.
Had António Cedeńo not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Cedeńo hit a 2-run double. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the D-Bags.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Cedeńo said.
The Rebels fall to 13-16 and continue their unimpressive start to the 2030 season.
