Tropics Subdue Hendersonville, 3-1
|
Maui got a first-rate effort from pitcher Jerry Martin, who frustrated Hendersonville hitters en route to a 3-1 Tropics triumph at Rainbow Stadium. Earning his 1st save for Maui was Archie Summers. The Hitmen fall to 11-14 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2030 season.
The Tropics got a big at-bat from first baseman Luis Antonio Torres. For the game, Torres was 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Maui a 3-0 lead.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Maui manager Truman Bailey.
