Athletics Top Kings to Even Record
|
The Philadelphia Athletics stopped the Kansas City Kings, 3-0, at Edmund Fitzgerald Field. The Athletics got a big game from Tony Morton, who went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The save went to António López, his 7th this season. The Kings fall to 11-13 and continue their wobbly start to the 2030 season.
In the top of the seventh, Gregg Nelson stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Kings were trailing 3-0, but had runners on 2nd and 3rd. That's when Rob Greene made a terrific pitch and Nelson popped out. Gone was the dream of a Kansas City comeback.
