Knights Lose to Rebels, 5-2
|
Boston right-hander José Ortíz made an effective start against the New York Knights at Roy Hobbs Memorial Ballpark, leading his team to a 5-2 win. Enrique Muńóz finished the game for Boston and earned his 1st save. The Rebels, now 2-0, have hit the ground running this season.
It could have been a different outcome for Boston, had it not been for Tony Long, the 24-year old first baseman . Long contributed a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put Boston up, 4-1.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Boston manager Noel Smith. "Our pregame was pretty good."
