Victory Pushes Browns Record to 15-5
|
Armando Avilés pitched a gem to lead St. Louis to a 2-1 victory over the Austin River Sharks. In 6.1 innings, Avilés surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. With their winning streak at 11, the Browns have raced to a strong start this season.
The Browns got a big at-bat from center fielder Robin Hill. For the game, Hill was 1 for 5 with a home run. In the top of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave St. Louis a 1-0 lead.
"This is truly a great team to play with," Avilés said after the game. "We're like brothers, and when we come together to pull out the win, that just makes it all the better."
