St. Louis Hot Streak Continues with 8-3 Win
|
The Austin River Sharks and St. Louis Browns cranked it up at Greendale Community Field.
The St. Louis Browns topped the Austin River Sharks by the score of 8-3, with the largest share of the credit going to designated hitter Javier Martínez. Martínez was 2 for 4 with a triple and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Browns. The River Sharks, now 5-14, continue their poor start.
The Browns got a big at-bat from shortstop Domingo Romero. For the game, Romero went 1 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 3rd double of the season gave St. Louis a 2-1 lead.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Martínez, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
