The Springfield Stars topped the Maui Tropics, 5-4, in Continental League action at Kekambas Park. The player of the game was Springfield pitcher and Koyang, South Korea native Hyo-chin Ch'oe. The Tropics fall to 7-13 and continue their wobbly start to the 2030 season.

In the bottom of the 6th, shortstop Gabriel Erwin gave Springfield the lead when he hit a 2-run double. The Stars had been trailing 3-2, but the two-out double off Maui pitcher Scott McCullough changed that -- and Springfield went on to win.

"I made some pitches when I had to," said Ch'oe.
