Austin River Sharks starter Carlos Hernández was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Irvine Gang Green, 5-2. Hernández picked up the win for Austin, going 6 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 2-4. Paco Gutiérrez was credited with the save for Austin, his 5th of the season.
In the bottom of the third inning, right fielder Edward Young came through big-time for the River Sharks. With Austin leading 2-0, he belted a 2-run home run.
Hernández attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
Austin is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 10th win in 28 games.
