G-Strings Fall Short, 1-0, at Seattle
|
Seattle Pikes starter Orlando Cruz turned in a top-notch performance against the Nashville G-Strings at Pikes' Point Stadium. The result was a win for the Pikes, 1-0. In 5.1 innings, Cruz surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 3. He allowed no runs. The G-Strings fall to 8-9 and continue their wobbly start to the 2030 season.
The Pikes got a big at-bat from right fielder John Nicholson. For the game, Nicholson was 1-3. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 1st hit of the season gave Seattle a 1-0 lead.
"I really like what we did out there today," Cruz said after the game.
