6 Straight Wins for 84s
|
Greenville rode a fine outing from starter Darrell Harding to victory over the Portland Cards at The Kallipolis. The final score was 5-2. The Cards, now 4-13, continue their poor start.
The 84s got a big at-bat from first baseman Pat Fernández. For the game, Fernández was 1 for 4. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the first, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 17th hit of the season gave Greenville a 2-0 lead.
Fernández called the win "a collective effort."
