Pikes Get Road Win, 9-6
|
The Seattle Pikes got a rain-soaked win over the Austin River Sharks at Greendale Community Field.
Richard Hunter left his imprint on the 9-6 Seattle win against the Austin River Sharks. Hunter, who is a four-time All-Star, was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Christian Camden, credited with the win, is now 6-7. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.1 innings.
The Pikes got a big at-bat from first baseman António Hernández. For the game, Hernández went 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the seventh, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 116th hit of the season gave Seattle a 7-5 lead.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Pikes manager Tim Wilson. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
Seattle is now 53-96, while Austin is 71-76.
