With catcher Júlio Figueroa leading the charge, the Pocatello Bellas defeated the Springfield Stars, 4-3, at New BRO Stadium. Figueroa, who leads the CL with a .386 batting average, went 3 for 3 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs. Nelson Ortega got the win, improving to 13-6. He worked 5 innings, giving up 2 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 2. Jaime Espinoza notched his 24th save in 26 chances.
Figueroa came through with some timely hitting for Pocatello. With the score 2-2 in the bottom of the fifth and one down, Figueroa hit a 1-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. His 177th hit of the season made it 3-2, Pocatello.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Springfield skipper Tommy Cox.
The Stars, at 102-47, have lost 5 in a row.
