Tropics Win in Glorious Fashion

Both teams had their chances, but the Maui Tropics eventually prevailed at Rainbow Stadium.
Dave Cook helped his team muscle past the Irvine Gang Green, 4-3. In the game, the Maui designated hitter was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Ramón Estrada picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-1. Raúl Saltines was tagged with the loss.
Cook had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the ninth. On a first pitch sinker from Raúl Saltines, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Tropics a 4-3 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Cook.
"We take it day by day here," said Cook, "and today was a good one for us."
Losses have been few and far between for the Gang Green so far this season. Their record drops to 10-5.
