Stars Lose, 7-5, at New BRO Stadium

The rain came, as predicted, but the Pocatello Bellas and Springfield Stars were able to complete their ballgame.
Springfield second baseman Mike Pearson was sensational. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Pocatello beat the Stars, 7-5. Pearson was named the player of the game despite the loss. Dionisio Penni was the winner. Over 5 innings, he allowed 1 run on 3 hits, with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts.
Lonnie Anderson had a big 2-run double for the Bellas in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Pocatello leading 3-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Jeff Mann and stroked the double to left. It was his 22nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Bellas ahead, 5-1.
"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Anderson told the Pocatello Daily News. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
Springfield has now lost 4 straight.
