Kings Score Late to Upend Rebels, 8-7
|
The Boston Rebels got a superb performance from center fielder Ricardo Brandariz, but the Kansas City Kings still won the game, 8-7. Brandariz was named the player of the game despite the loss. He went 4-5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs. The win was credited to Aaron Palmer in relief. His record improves to 3-6. Keith Hill took the loss. Kansas City now owns a record of 81-64.
Eduardo García was the walk-off hero for Kansas City. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Kings right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Kansas City manager Ernesto Durán.
