Big Day for Santiago as Bruins Down Athletics, 12-5
|
A 4-RBI performance from the 35-year old left fielder José Antonio Santiago helped the So Cal Bruins beat the Philadelphia Athletics, 12-5. José Ortíz picked up the win, improving his season record to 2-4. He struck out 5 in 6.1 innings. The Bruins bumped their record to 85-57 with this latest triumph.
The Bruins got a big at-bat from second baseman José Delgado. For the game, Delgado went 2 for 4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI. In the top of the sixth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 47th hit of the season gave So Cal a 5-3 lead.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Santiago told the So Cal Gazette.
