Bellas Win at Vista, 7-6
|
The Pocatello Bellas defeated the Vista Panthers, 7-6, at Stone Brewery Stadium today. Leading the charge for Pocatello was second baseman Ryan Drake. He went 4-4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 times. Chris Martin got the win, improving to 16-5. He worked 6.1 innings, giving up 2 runs on 10 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 4. Pocatello is now 101-37, 22½ games up in the Continental League Western Division.
Stan Bates had a clutch at-bat with no one out in the top of the seventh for the Bellas. Coming up with a runner on 1st and Pocatello trailing 2-1, he hit a 2-run home run.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Bates said.
