G-Strings Edge Browns, 5-4
|
The Nashville G-Strings got a rain-soaked win over the St. Louis Browns at Gibson Guitar Park.
Getting a good performance from left fielder Rob Grun, the Nashville G-Strings defeated the St. Louis Browns, 5-4. Grun went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the G-Strings. Raúl Sandoval, credited with the win, is now 5-3. He allowed no runs on no hits in 0.1 innings. Mario Machado earned his 10th save in 12 chances.
Grun had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 1-1 cutter from Juan Franco, he banged a 3-run home run to right-center, giving the G-Strings a 5-4 lead. It was the 32nd home run of the year for Grun.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Grun. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
Nashville has a 3-game win streak, while St. Louis has lost 3 in a row.
