Looters Get Close Win Over Kings
Fans who gathered at The Throne Room saw a good contest between the New Orleans Looters and Kansas City Kings.

The New Orleans Looters beat the Kansas City Kings, 5-4, at The Throne Room. The win was largely due to the efforts of third baseman Arturo Sánchez, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. New Orleans reliever Juan Flores picked up the win, bumping his record to 3-1. Vinícius Itaquy was collared with the loss. Juan Méndez got the save, his 28th in 34 chances.

Sánchez had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 1-0 cutter from Vinícius Itaquy, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Looters a 5-4 lead. It was the 14th home run of the year for Sánchez.

"I just love going out and having a big game," Sánchez said when asked about being named player of the game. "It's an honor to have your talents recognized."

New Orleans goes to 68-69. The win puts them 8½ games up in their division.
