Borbón Hits 2 home runs in Rockets Win
|
Behind a solid performance from shortstop Salvador Borbón, the Nassau Rockets defeated the Kansas City Kings, 6-2. Borbón hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Rockets. Paço Boda got the win, improving to 6-5. He pitched 8 innings, giving up 9 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 1 and walking 1. Dennis Taylor was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 1 of 5 save opportunities.
Borbón had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a full count sinker from Aaron Palmer, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Rockets a 3-2 lead. It was the 26th home run of the year for Borbón.
Borbón told a Nassau Daily reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
Nassau, at 59-75, sits in second place in the National League Southern Division.
