Extra-Inning Walk-Off Win for Knights
|
The New York Knights and Philadelphia Athletics put on quite a show at Roy Hobbs Memorial Ballpark.
The New York Knights beat the Philadelphia Athletics, 7-6, at Roy Hobbs Memorial Ballpark. The win was largely due to the efforts of designated hitter Mark Wells, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 3 RBI. New York, at 51-83, occupies last place in the National League Eastern Division.
Late in the game, first baseman Willie Wallace had a big at-bat for New York. In the bottom of the 11th, he hit a run-scoring single off Yu-shu Kong. The play gave the Knights a 7-6 lead.
Wallace told a New York News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
