Late Rally by Looters Secures Win
|
The New Orleans Looters faced a tough opponent in Baffin Island pitcher Juan González, but did just enough to pull out the victory at The Bayou at Heineken Field by a final score of 4-3. González went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 earned run. The win was credited to Tadao Yoshida in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Beau Brown took the loss. New Orleans improves to 65-68 with the win. They lead their division by 6˝ games.
The Looters were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when center fielder Miguel Colón turned a first pitch splitter from David Lester into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent a roar through the crowd and gave New Orleans a thrilling 4-3 win.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Colón said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
