Bandits Lose to Kings, 11-5
|
The Kansas City Kings defeated the San Francisco Bandits, 11-5, at The Throne Room today. Leading the charge for Kansas City was catcher Rafael Carreón. He went 2-5 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 5. Kansas City starter Randy Mailman was credited with the win after throwing 102 pitches over 7 innings. His record now stands at 4-1. Kansas City is now riding a 3-game win streak.
The Kings got a big at-bat from third baseman Dave Parker. For the game, Parker was 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run single. His 122nd hit of the season gave Kansas City a 3-2 lead.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Parker told the Kansas City News.
